Planning ahead for Hēki’s safe return to Earth
The Hēki team is planning and prioritising test activities to use our remaining time on the ISS most efficiently. In parallel, Hēki’s “engineering model” – Hēki’s lab-based twin – has provided data on how to prepare for Hēki’s safe return to Earth.
Hēki completes primary mission, begins extended mission
Happy New Year! Hēki completes its primary 15 week mission this week, and has started its extended mission (scheduled to complete in April 2026). With the mission success criteria achieved, the team is now focused on characterising Hēki’s performance over a wider range of operating conditions.
Hēki radiation detector experiment captures solar flare data
Hēki’s radiation detector experiment has now captured over seven weeks of data at a variety of magnetic fields, including data from a recent solar flare event.
